Where ignorance is bliss, ’tis folly to be wise

This post is written with Ray Charles‘ song “Hard Times” playing in the background over and over again… Indeed no one know’s it better than he did… with all what he went through in his lifetime; the strength he had to face his demons and actually overcome them, just to be who he still is, the one and only Ray Charles…

Idols and their stories were written in the first place to give us strength and faith “maybe”, to make us go on, not give up and most probably to get out of life alive eventually… All of them had one thing in common, whether they were leaders or singers, writers or actors… determination to go against the tide; a sense of change that no one else could see… was just wondering (and oooh my, I do alot of that) what would have happened if someone like Isaac Newton didn’t leave all behind and went by that apple tree; or someone like Galileo Galilei didn’t notice that swinging chandelier? actually what would happen if they haven’t pursued their dreams based on their “irrational” findings?

History’s hall of fame is dominated by psychopaths and madmen; is it possible that the pathway to greatness plays with your mind? or is it that greatness is nothing but madness?

For all i know; people who are different are those who makes the headlines; for no other reason but being “against” the norm!

So; is it foolish to be wise -the kind of wisdom that none else sees-, others consider it madness where ignorance is a bliss? or is that what a weak person would say? a person who can’t stand up and defend his beliefs? an outnumbered person?

I say the sky is the limit; and the more stones are cased; the more I know I’m on the right path, to glory, greatness, and maybe if I’m lucky… IF I’m lucky -although I believe luck is overrated- to be remembered when I’m gone! nothing is gonna stop me from achieving what I long to be; and no one is gonna stop me from becoming what I will… and yes oh yes, I will keep on walking that street of dreams just like a blind man did once; and became one of the most known musicians of all time.

History is a prequel to our lifetime; in order for us to read the future and understand the present; one has to look into it and learn as well as much as he can. Otherwise it will make no sense…

The path to glory is paved with pain and hard times; it is known… So; I say bring it on and lets meet on the other side and see who made it and who hasn’t… Hard Times? bring them on; I’ll rest when I’m dead… As long as I breath; this shall go on…

From the bottom; promising myself to be a better man,

Same script, different cast

Sometimes I just think to myself how awesome it would be to wake up just to find out that I and all the people around me were actors in this sick drama; and we’ll all go out for drinks right after the show…

Only if life was that kind…

Do you ever lay awake at night staring at the ceiling while you think about every moment you wish you could change? Change something you did or said? Something about yourself? Or maybe something happened to someone dare to you? I know I do…

I always heard that being a human means we are allowed to do mistakes; all sorts of them… Yet it brings me tears to recall some of the things I did; the shame; the blame; and all that made me lose a game… Some mistakes made me stronger that’s for sure; but some made me hate myself as well… Well… That’s just a part of life… Do one thing right; and the other wrong… Yet what hurts me the most is knowing I hurt someone along the way; let alone the fact that this someone is THE one…

How many things existed just cause people believed in them? For sure feelings are amongst such list… When you believe you are into someone that much, but they are not! It’s just cause they don’t share the same belief… same thing with harm; where we do certain things we believe are good or fine; while to some its plain evil and pure harm.

All I can add to the above is that I am a changing man; trying my best day by day to be.
I don’t know where will that road take me; and I have no clue how will it end up to be like…
But I know one thing for sure; I know I did wrong; and I know as well that I started to make it better… I pray to find the right way on the right time…

from the only street I know; writing you from the street of broken dreams;

Dr. Ahmed Alkhuzaie

A tribute to the woman who has been the kindest to me; and I was the exact opposite… You are one of a kind and I would have done a lot of things different. “I lived in this place and I’ve known all the face, each one is different but thy are always the same…” simply cause they are not you “I never dreamed home would end up where I don’t belong” cause home is where one’s belongs; and you are my home.

Burning Bridges

Reaching a dead-end sometimes differs from failing. sometimes, burning bridges makes sense for cutting losses and accepting the inevitable; other times it’s a staring point, or a fresh new start.

Is a bridge burner a coward? Or does it take courage and bravery to do so?
sometimes “and I say sometimes” the past can be harmful -keeping in mind that it made us who we are with all the good and the bad experiences we got hurt from, enjoyed or even learned from- so doesn’t it take a man to stop the harm and leave it behind? Start a healing process? Or is that considered fear of the unknown? not standing up for what you wanted the most? won’t the fire from the bridge(s) we burn light the way for what’s coming? or will we keep on committing the same mistakes all over again? each and every time? won’t the fire from the bridge(s) burn us instead of showing us the way?

Lots of questions; some are better remain unanswered; and some cannot be answered anyway…

Caught between two fires in the middle of a burned bridge,

Then what? “A question from the Crossroads”

Today, Valentine’s day, what’s known locally as “14th of feb” in Bahrain; is the benchmark of what’s next, is the stepping stone of what will be. The escalation on the local scene has been tempered in the past couple of weeks by the opposition (led by the Shiites); their rivals (mainly Sunnies); and the comparative foxy official quietness.

Today is where the oppositions claims and threats are tested; they announced how they will die for their beliefs; some claimed to leave the island if what used to be a roundabout isn’t taken over by them, others said they’ll die for it to happen… And so in!

If that didn’t happen; then what? Will this be the situation from here? Or will they backdown? Will things be better? Or as usual, from here to worst? Is it personal now? Or will everyone think rationally?

Let’s wait and see,

A.K

P.S. This is not a criticism to any side, just wondering how things will be like from now on…

Lead the way; be the change

20120212-215432.jpg

“Be the change you want to see in the world.” Mahatma Gandhi

A moment of truth; I have always given people my opinions and always asked them to keep the faith and never let go of whatever they pursued. The problem is that I always focused on them, and left myself out. Instead of changing their beliefs and looking after them achieving their dreams; I should have worked on my flaws, fix my past mistakes, face my fears, and pursue my dreams. In other words be the change I want to see.

To all whom I harmed intentionally or not; I am sorry. To all whom I lied to, I apologize. To whom I wasn’t up to their expectations accept my sincere remorse.

Now back to reality; having the capability to admit to your faults and mistakes isn’t as easy as we read or heard… It’s one of the hardest things I ever came across; it’s like stopping in the middle of the road and go “what the hell have I been doing” and “ok, let’s cut the crap and start with business” with all the criticism and put downs; it is worth it.

so, changing the world, start from one’s self; it all starts from within… not by watching the news, but by making them, and not by sitting on that corner begging for “change” but by making the big bucks.

And finally; make sure you correct your faults before casting the first stone, and make sure you don’t do mistakes and advice others to prevent making them. Lead the way, by example, be the way you want see the society as; don’t let the society sees you how it wants, that’s the meaning of being a pioneer.

In the absence of light… Darkness prevails

Dark Forest

A civil war is a war between organized groups within the same nation-state or republic, or, less commonly, between two countries created from a formerly united nation state. The aim of one side may be to take control of the country or a region, to achieve independence for a region, or to change government policies.

A civil war is a high-intensity conflict, often involving regular armed forces, that is sustained, organized and large-scale. Civil wars may result in large numbers of casualties and the consumption of significant resources. http://www.wikipedia.com

Such wars normally starts with a simple conflict; mainly of a fundamental nature; be it religious or power; that it normally escalates unexpectedly to become a real civil conflict where innocent civilians are used as excuse to fuel it and make it last longer.

in such cases every side will claim that they had no clue things will escalate to that extent; and that if they knew they wouldn’t allow it. yet I disagree, cause each side (mostly) have received insights and can see for themselves what was going on; so if they didn’t knew for real; then that is a huge problem for the crowds were following a real fool; and if they knew and did nothing to stop it; well… what can I say further?

Civil wars have further resulted in economic collapse; Burma (Myanmar), Uganda and Angola are examples of nations that were considered to have promising futures before being engulfed in civil wars. http://www.wikipedia.com

Many would think that I am standing against people’s well, and against democracy… I would ask them; is democracy an equal term to chaos? is democracy another word for getting innocent people into wars God didn’t call for? or does it mean go with the flow? I totally agree that “the voice of people is the voice of God”  but what if the voice of people was in support of adultery? would God support such voice?

God and today’s states is a hard combination if not impossible; I’m a believer; but I never walked on water and could never wake the dead; but I do believe that any man is an equal to any other. my view of a modern Utopia is as such.

A basic insight in religion; most religions… is to live and let live… so imagine a Muslim state allowing all other religions to practice their  faiths the way they see fit with no boundaries; and with no objection from the Muslims in that state… would that exist? if it would; I’m sure it will be called heaven on earth… Same goes to a Christian state; to allow all sects and religions practice their faiths as they like and see fit.

if that ever existed; I would like to have a chat with religious leaders in that country (if it is to exist) and see what they have to say. would they like it? would they encourage it and co-exist happily eve rafter? I highly doubt it; even some will call for a holy war to reinstate the word of “their” God in his land! back to square one!

The days of prophets are gone; for some that will be absence of light! leaving the place for darkness to take over. is that the way it should be? why don’t we all become a source of light? why don’t we all become messengers of God and let light prevail instead?

Fighting was hardly the solution to solve anything; instead a win/win situation could be worked out; right? who am I kidding… such things became unavoidable… Yet; of a better tomorrow I dream; and in my fellow-men I believe…

… It’s time for heroes

Van Gogh - Starry NightMore than any time in recent history, Humanity’s destiny is not of our own choosing. We did not seek nor did we provoke an assault on our freedoms and our way of life. We did not expect nor did we invite a confrontation with evil. Yet the true measure of a people’s strength is how they rise to master that moment when it does arrive.

The streets of heaven are too crowded with angels tonight. Syria have sacrificed too many of its beloved children, Iraqi‘s are slaughtered in the name of God for years now, Bahrain is unstable, Yemen is crying for freedom, Iran is punishing its own people, souls are dying everywhere… The streets of heaven are too crowded with angels, but every time we think we have measured our capacity to meet a challenge, we look up and we’re reminded that that capacity may well be limitless. I believe we all can get out of it amicably, if we really put our hearts, minds and souls, and left our selfishness aside, believed for real that all of us have the right to co exist and seek diversity in our thoughts and beliefs… If we agreed that everyone has the freedom of picking any God and any religion and live as human beings for a change…

Everyone, and I say everyone has the right to live on this planet, no matter what he believe in, and no matter what his aims are… All men are created equally, therefore has the right to live accordingly.

This is a time for heroes. We will do what is hard. We will achieve what is great; we will survive this insanity somehow. This is a time for heroes and we reach for the stars. God bless their memory, and may God bless us all.
